EDR²: A sustainable journey, fuelled by collaboration

EDR2 wasn’t formed overnight. It began with three individuals, long involved in the sustainability sector, bonding over shared meals, informal discussions, and hands-on repair sessions. Recognizing the potential for greater impact, we decided to pursue our aspirations when presented with a space at Vidacity.

More than just individuals, EDR² represents a collaborative effort. We believe in learning from each other and working together towards a more sustainable future. Whether you’re a seasoned professional or simply curious about making a difference, we welcome you to join our journey.

Danny Lim

With a career steeped in technical installations and maintenance intricacies, Danny Lim embarked on a transformative journey in 2017. A serendipitous encounter with Repair Kopitiam Singapore (RKS) ignited a passion for sustainability, leading them to helm the organisation for five remarkable years. Under Danny Lim’s leadership, RKS blossomed, expanding to 9 locations by 2023, solidifying its impact on the community.

Driven by a constant pursuit of solutions, Danny Lim recognised the need for a more comprehensive approach to sustainability. Enter EDR2, our latest vision – a platform designed to bridge the gap, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing within the sustainability landscape. EDR2 connects individuals and organisations, empowering them to contribute to impactful action through shared expertise and collective effort.

Danny Lim’s journey speaks volumes about the transformative power of passion and initiative. His dedication to fostering a sustainable future is an inspiration, a call to action for all to join forces and collectively build a greener tomorrow.

John Chan

John Chan’s passion for fixing things started young, leading them to delve into the world of repairs and fabrication. This passion fueled their small IT service business and blossomed into a desire to make a wider impact.

The turning point came in 2016 when John Chan began volunteering with Repair Kopitiam Singapore. Witnessing the sheer volume of electronic waste firsthand opened their eyes to the environmental challenges. Determined to contribute to a more sustainable future, John Chan embarked on a mission to spread the word about repair and inspire others to embrace it.

This mission manifested in two ways: education and hands-on involvement. John Chan started crafting insightful repair courses and penned informative guides, empowering individuals to tackle their fixes. Simultaneously, his talent for fabrication found a new purpose – creating sustainable solutions and products that promote the values of repair and resourcefulness.

Now, with EDR2, John Chan takes this journey to the next level. This platform serves as a springboard to further share his knowledge, showcase innovative repair techniques, and encourage a more mindful approach to consumption.

Through their unwavering dedication and impactful initiatives, John Chan embodies the spirit of a true advocate for repair and sustainability.
